Portrait of the Spirit Warrior – This is part two of "Spirit Warrior on the Hunt" which is a four part series. This piece will show in depth facial features as well as a closer view of background characteristics that may not be as visible in part one of "The Hunt." Consider the significance of the headband; Since long hair is common among many Native American cultures, headbands provided a convenient way to secure hair, keeping it from obstructing vision or getting tangled; it simply kept hair out of the way during daily activities.
Nevertheless, each symbol on the Native American headbands often represented specific tribal customs identities, marital status, a person's age, and other cultural heritage. The symbol on this headband will be full explained in part three of this series. Undoubtedly, it's obviously known what his eyes are trained on and what he's aiming to do as we view "The Hunt." Part four shows this avid focus closeup.
Let's consider the facial and background details. The facial features shows most of the curvatures and coarse lifestyle of this Native American. The artist entreats you to intently scrutinize the lines in his face as you follow the contrast of shades over the lines; facial images appear within his face especially above the jaw and around his cheek and the corner of his mouth. Can your artistic eye see the face thats coming off the corner of his black mask just under the headband? These facial features are all coherent with the curvatures of his face. The neck has the same illusionistic feature as the face; within the lines and curvature of the neck is the facial features of his woman. It appears that this woman shares the hair that falls on his trapezius; her mouth is aligned with his clavicle; her left eye is his throat. In fact, the image of this woman's face is in the neck that turns her man's head. There are also facial images in the shoulder of the man emphasizing generational strength.
Let's also consider the background of this piece that has facial images within his hunting grounds, especially in the foliage of the plains where he resides. This portrait is a facial closeup showing the intricate "beauty in detail" of the "Spirit Warrior on the Hunt" of course, details that may not be seen as vividly in part one over the entire seen; however, if you examine The Hunt with a magnifier perhaps a small measure of this image may be seen.
